Our client is a small animal hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director Veterinarian to lead the delivery of care for dogs and cats. The hospital focuses on improving the lives of pets and pet parents through high standards of veterinary medicine, supported by modern technology and a culture centered on patient care, collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian looking to combine clinical practice with hospital leadership.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and client experience while driving continuous improvement in clinical skills and cultivating a supportive, respectful, and collaborative working culture. The role combines practicing autonomous medicine with leadership responsibilities, including reviewing hospital P&L and partnering with medical and operations field leaders to support hospital performance, efficiency, and quality of care. Clinical responsibilities include routine, diagnostic, and complex procedures such as radiographs and ultrasounds, dental extractions and prophylaxis, spays and neuters, abdominal exploratory procedures, and mass removals. The veterinarian will also provide vaccines and microchipping, routine wellness care, treatment for illness and injury, imaging, and flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and prescriptions. Paid continuing education and leadership training are provided to support ongoing development as both a practitioner and leader.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with modern veterinary technology including cloud-based practice management and records software, digital and dental X-ray, IDEXX, Butterfly iQ+ handheld ultrasound, Vetology Radiograph Interpretation AI, a VMED Vet-Dop2 Doppler Blood Pressure System, and VETSCAN IMAGYST. These resources support the delivery of routine, diagnostic, and complex veterinary care, including imaging, dentistry, surgery, wellness care, illness and injury management, vaccinations, microchipping, and parasite prevention. The hospital operates within a wider network of more than 250 full-service veterinary hospitals and hundreds of preventive care clinics, with medical and operational support available to help maintain high standards of care and hospital performance.

Team
The Medical Director Veterinarian will lead and support the hospital team, with a focus on improving clinical skills and creating a respectful, collaborative environment where all team members feel welcome. The position works in partnership with medical and operations field leaders while providing clinical leadership within the hospital.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
