Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead their small animal practice. The hospital provides comprehensive care across the full small animal lifecycle, including preventive wellness, complex diagnostics, urgent care, and rehabilitation services. This leadership opportunity is open to veterinarians of all experience levels, offering clinical autonomy within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The position offers full-time or part-time flexibility. The hospital operates Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will champion medical excellence within the hospital while also practicing clinically. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, conducting performance discussions, coaching on individual development goals, and fostering a culture of collaboration and retention. You will partner with the Practice Manager to support hospital performance, contribute to annual planning, and ensure compliance with medical and regulatory standards. The role includes leading doctor meetings, supervising mentorship and externship programs, driving continuous improvement in patient care and client service, and serving as a community ambassador. Clinically, you will manage a varied caseload spanning preventive wellness, diagnostics, urgent care, and surgical procedures while maintaining high standards of medicine.

Practice Details
The hospital provides comprehensive small animal services, including preventive wellness, complex diagnostics, urgent care, and surgical care. A unique focus includes canine rehabilitation, incorporating hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and cold laser therapy to support pain management, mobility restoration, muscle strengthening, injury prevention, and enhanced quality of life. The practice promotes clinical autonomy supported by modern technology and efficient workflows, creating an environment where high-quality medicine and professional growth are prioritized.

The hospital currently has 1 DVM, offering a strong opportunity for leadership growth and development within a close-knit, collaborative team environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
