Introduction
A modern veterinary clinic in Highlands Ranch, Colorado is seeking a Medical Director to lead its primary and urgent care team. This hospital is part of a progressive veterinary care model designed to deliver accessible, high-quality medicine through a combination of general practice and urgent care services. Working Hours / Rota
The clinic provides primary and urgent care services with extended hours until 8:00pm, operating 365 days per year. The position follows a structured shift model built around 12-hour shifts with varied scheduling, designed to support consistent patient care while maintaining a balanced and sustainable workload without overnight or on-call responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will combine clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, delivering high-quality veterinary care while guiding the medical team. Responsibilities include overseeing clinical protocols, maintaining high standards of patient care, mentoring veterinarians and technicians, and supporting team development through daily collaboration. The role also involves helping shape clinic culture, supporting operational improvements, and working alongside leadership teams to contribute to the continued growth of a modern veterinary care model.

Practice Details
The clinic operates under a hybrid primary care and urgent care model, providing preventative medicine, diagnostics, surgery, and same-day appointments for urgent cases. The hospital utilizes modern veterinary technology including laparoscopic surgical capabilities and AI-assisted medical documentation tools, helping streamline workflows and improve clinical efficiency. The practice environment is designed to support strong collaboration, efficient systems, and the delivery of accessible, high-quality veterinary medicine.

Team
The Medical Director will lead a collaborative veterinary team supported by a highly trained technician and assistant group, maintaining approximately a 3:1 support staff ratio. The culture emphasizes mentorship, teamwork, and continuous professional development, creating an environment where both clinicians and support staff can grow while delivering exceptional patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
