Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a full-service small animal hospital in Goleta, California, currently seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead their veterinary team. The practice is known for its exceptional standards of care, strong leadership, and commitment to providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services in a supportive environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and closed on weekends. The Medical Director position is full-time, offering a consistent weekday schedule.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee all aspects of clinical operations, providing leadership and mentorship to the veterinary team while maintaining a caseload. Responsibilities include driving high-quality patient care, ensuring medical protocols are upheld, supporting team development, and contributing to the strategic direction of the practice. Clinical duties include preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with modern technology, including digital radiography, digital dental x-rays, ultrasound, and endoscopy. Services span wellness exams, internal medicine, diagnostics, surgical procedures, and dentistry. The hospital fosters a positive culture focused on collaboration, ongoing learning, and high-quality service delivery.
Team
The current team includes one DVM supported by experienced and trained technical staff. The environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on communication, mentorship, and a healthy workplace culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
