Job Description
Introduction
An AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado is seeking a Medical Director to lead its clinical and cultural direction. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role within a well-established practice that prioritizes high standards of medicine, collaboration, and continuous development, supported by access to wider clinical resources and a strong emphasis on team growth.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Tuesday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, with Mondays and weekends closed, offering a structured schedule that supports strong work-life balance and consistent daytime clinical work.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will combine clinical work with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and developing veterinarians, establishing and maintaining medical standards, supporting hospital performance, and fostering a collaborative and engaged team culture, while continuing to practice high-quality medicine across a range of small animal cases.
Practice Details
The practice delivers comprehensive small animal care with a strong focus on advanced diagnostics and treatment, including areas such as orthopedics, cardiology, and ultrasound, supported by modern equipment and protocols aligned with AAHA standards to ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
Team
You will lead and work alongside an established team of veterinarians and experienced support staff, within a culture that values collaboration, mentorship, and professional development, with access to internal training and specialist consultation to support both clinical and leadership growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
