Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to join a highly respected AAHA-accredited small animal practice. The hospital focuses on companion animals and offers an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian to step into a leadership role while continuing to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 7:30am to 7:00pm, Thursday from 7:30am to 6:00pm, Friday from 7:30am to 7:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 2:00pm, with Sundays closed. This is a full-time position with flexibility in scheduling.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role blends clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, allowing the Medical Lead Veterinarian to guide the medical direction of the hospital while continuing to practice. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, leading performance discussions, and fostering a collaborative, growth-focused culture. The position involves working closely with the Practice Manager to support hospital performance, leading regular doctor meetings, and contributing to operational planning. Clinically, the role includes delivering comprehensive care across wellness, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and urgent care, while setting the standard for medical quality and client service. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is required.

Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited small animal hospital offers a wide range of services including preventative care, puppy and kitten wellness, senior care, parasite prevention, surgery, dental care, diagnostics, emergency and urgent care, and exotic pet services. The facility is equipped with advanced technology including in-house laboratory services, digital radiography, ultrasound supported by board-certified specialists, video otoscopy, CO₂ surgical laser technology, laser therapy, and advanced surgical monitoring equipment. Surgical capabilities include soft-tissue, orthopedic, neurological, dental, ophthalmic, and foreign body procedures. The practice supports a high standard of evidence-based medicine within a culture that values collaboration, education, and clinical excellence.

Team
The hospital has 4 DVMs working within a collaborative and supportive team environment, fostering mentorship, shared expertise, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
