Introduction
Our client is a hospital that is hiring a full-time Medical Director. An established veterinary practice celebrating more than 50 years of serving Southeast Michigan, the hospital provides care for cats, dogs, and equine patients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to step into a leadership role within a long-standing practice that serves both small animal and equine communities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position involves undertaking the full scope of Medical Director responsibilities while providing exceptional medical, surgical, and preventive care. The successful candidate will lead and mentor the medical team, foster a collaborative culture, build strong relationships with clients and the surrounding community, and help create and implement medical protocols and best practices that support high-quality care. Flexible scheduling is available. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian with an interest in providing mentorship. Equine experience is a plus but not required.

Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Equine emergency services are available 24 hours a day. Services include the full scope of GP services for both equine and small animal patients. The practice is equipped with modern technology including, but not limited to, radiology, ultrasound, medical thermography, an in-house laboratory, and a Tonopen. Additional facilities include an in-house pharmacy. Additional services include nutritional counselling and acupuncture.

Team
You will be joining a 9 DVM hospital, consisting of 4 small animal veterinarians and 4 equine veterinarians, with a separate Equine Medical Director. The team is supported by dedicated and skilled support staff, including 4 LVTs. This structure provides a collaborative environment with expertise across both small animal and equine medicine.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
