The hospital sees cats and dogs and offers an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Veterinary Specialist to transition into a leadership position while continuing to practice veterinary medicine within a collaborative specialty environment. This role provides the opportunity to help establish the direction and medical quality of the hospital while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team. The hospital also offers a residency program in internal medicine and a specialty internship in surgical oncology, supporting continued clinical education and development within a progressive referral setting.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves a combination of clinical and leadership responsibilities, with approximately 50% clinical and 50% administrative duties. As Specialty Medical Director, the successful candidate will serve as a mentor and coach, nurturing talent and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the hospital. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with regional leadership to recruit, train, and develop veterinary professionals while helping drive medical excellence and exceptional client service standards throughout the hospital. The role also includes contributing strategic insights toward annual planning, budgeting, and goal-setting to align hospital performance with broader operational objectives. Specific doctor hours will be discussed. This opportunity is suited to an experienced board-certified or residency-trained specialist who is looking to combine advanced clinical practice with hospital leadership responsibilities while receiving support from the Regional Medical Director, field leadership teams, and Support Office associates.
