Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing full-service companion animal care, seeking a Medical Director to lead their growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to combine clinical work with leadership, mentorship, and strategic input in a collaborative, community-focused environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital operates Monday to Wednesday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, is closed on Thursday, open Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and closed on weekends, offering a structured schedule with no weekend requirements.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care while leading and mentoring associate veterinarians and support staff. Responsibilities include shaping medical protocols and standards of care, collaborating with hospital leadership on growth and strategy, and maintaining strong client relationships. The role blends hands-on clinical duties with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high standards of care and fostering a positive team culture. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
This is a well-established, community-oriented small animal hospital delivering comprehensive veterinary services with a compassionate, personalized approach. The hospital offers services including wellness care, dental care, in-house diagnostics, microchipping, parasite prevention, senior pet care, surgery, vaccinations, and nutritional counseling. The practice emphasizes client education, strong community relationships, and a supportive environment where veterinary professionals can grow and thrive. The facility supports same-day appointments for urgent needs and maintains a collaborative culture focused on high-quality care.
Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a supportive and relationship-driven working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
