Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a Medical Director. The hospital is a large, well-established practice providing primary veterinary care with a focus on wellness and routine sick appointments. The role is a full-time leadership position overseeing medical standards and supporting a collaborative clinical team.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 6:30pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, and Sunday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. The position is full-time with a rotating Saturday schedule.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead and support the medical team while maintaining clinical oversight of patient care. The role focuses on wellness and routine sick appointments, with no surgery or radiology performed on site. Responsibilities include mentoring and collaborating with associate veterinarians, fostering a team-oriented environment, and upholding high standards of medical care, ethics, and client relationships. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian committed to leadership, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
Practice Details
The hospital is a large, established facility offering preventive care services alongside boarding and grooming. Clinical capabilities include ultrasound and blood pressure monitoring, with advanced diagnostics and specialized treatments referred to a sister hospital. The practice emphasizes continuity of care, long-term client relationships, and a supportive working culture backed by strong infrastructure and resources.
Team
The team includes one full-time doctor and one part-time doctor, supported by a long-tenured and dedicated staff known for collaboration, stability, and continuity of care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
