Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead its multi-doctor team. This AAHA-accredited practice is well established and client-focused, with a strong commitment to high-quality patient care. The hospital treats companion animals and is expanding its facility, creating an opportunity for a collaborative leader to guide a growing and dedicated team.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, with the practice closed on Sundays.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director role includes managing wellness and acute outpatient appointments, performing routine examinations, vaccinations, laboratory work, radiology interpretation, and cytology. Responsibilities also include overseeing routine soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures. The position combines hands-on clinical work with leadership, supporting high standards of medicine while guiding and collaborating with the wider veterinary team.
Practice Details
The practice is AAHA accredited and provides fear-free pet care in a progressive, expanding facility. Services include wellness exams, vaccinations, kitten and puppy care, spaying and neutering, senior pet care, dentistry, diagnostics, allergy care, laser therapy, behavior counseling for dogs, microchipping, in-house pharmacy services, veterinary referrals, and end-of-life care. The culture emphasizes personalized service, strong client relationships, and a team-oriented approach to comprehensive patient care.
Team
The hospital team includes three DVMs working in a collaborative environment that values leadership, teamwork, and delivering excellent service to both clients and patients.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
