Introduction
Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital providing comprehensive care for cats and dogs. They are seeking an experienced Medical Director Veterinarian to join the practice on a full-time basis, combining hands-on clinical medicine with responsibility for leading the hospital team and maintaining high standards of patient care. The hospital provides veterinarians with advanced equipment, medical leadership support, and a skilled paraprofessional team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will provide clinical leadership while remaining actively involved in patient care, performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating disease, and delivering preventive medicine based on each patient’s individual needs, lifestyle, and environment. Responsibilities include developing problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and appropriate treatments based on diagnostic findings, alongside maintaining detailed medical records and creating treatment plans for hospitalized patients. The role also includes routine and complex surgery such as spays and neuters, abdominal exploratory procedures, and mass removals, as well as comprehensive dentistry involving dental examinations, interpretation of dental radiographs, simple and complex extractions, and oral surgery. The veterinarian will also coordinate transfers to overnight or referral care when required to maintain continuity of treatment. This position is specifically for an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The full-service hospital is supported by quality veterinary equipment, including ultrasound, heated hydraulic surgery tables, and digital radiography. The clinical environment is designed to support comprehensive veterinary medicine while providing veterinarians with access to supportive medical field leadership and infrastructure. Patient needs are placed at the center of care, with an emphasis on creating an exceptional patient and client experience and maintaining continuity of care when referral or overnight treatment is required.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
