Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to join their team. The hospital provides care for dogs and cats and is focused on delivering high-quality medicine within a collaborative and well-supported environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead clinical operations while continuing to practice medicine, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client service. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, conducting performance discussions, and fostering a culture of teamwork and retention. The role involves partnering with the Practice Manager to support hospital performance, manage financial goals, and ensure compliance with medical and regulatory standards. Additional duties include leading doctor meetings, supporting mentorship and externship programs, and contributing to recruitment efforts. This position is suited for experienced veterinarians with strong leadership capabilities.

Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays. It is an AAHA accredited facility recognized for maintaining high standards of veterinary care. The practice offers a full range of services including wellness and preventive care, diagnostics, advanced medical care, and surgical procedures. The environment emphasizes clinical excellence, continuous development, and access to additional professional resources to support complex case management.

Team
The hospital has 8 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative environment focused on mentorship, development, and high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
