Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to join their mixed-animal practice. The hospital provides care for companion animals, livestock, equine, and exotics, and is looking for an experienced clinician who can combine hands-on general practice with leadership responsibilities.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Doctor hours are open to discussion, with flexibility within the full-time schedule.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This is an experienced-level role with responsibility for the full scope of general practice, alongside leadership duties. Clinical work includes wellness and preventive care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, urgent care, and internal medicine, within a diverse mixed-animal caseload. The Medical Director will play a key role in clinical leadership while remaining actively involved in day-to-day patient care.

Practice Details
The hospital sees a busy, well-paced general practice caseload with an average daily patient volume that reflects a high-demand environment. The practice is well-equipped and offers a full scope of general practice services, as well as urgent care, emergency care, and exotic pet care.

Team
The team consists of two DVMs supported by a strong technician and CSR team. The support staff ratio ensures that doctors are well supported throughout the day and never working on their own.
