Introduction
Our client is a well-established, AAHA-accredited small animal hospital hiring a Medical Director to provide care for dogs and cats and lead the clinical team. The hospital is seeking a veterinarian passionate about delivering high-quality medicine within a supportive and collaborative environment. Both full-time and part-time options are available.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee medical standards, guide clinical protocols and support the veterinary team’s development through teaching, mentorship and collaboration. Responsibilities include working with practice management to support hospital operations, promoting consistent patient care and encouraging ongoing clinical improvement. Alongside leadership duties, the role includes wellness examinations, preventative care, vaccinations, internal medicine, dentistry and soft tissue surgery. Additional clinical responsibilities include diagnostics, anesthesia, pain management and managing routine and more complex medical cases. Building strong client relationships and helping owners make informed decisions about their pets’ care are also key aspects of the position. The role would suit a collaborative veterinarian who enjoys teaching others and is committed to continued learning and professional growth. Students and new graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive dedicated mentorship.

Practice Details
The hospital has served the surrounding communities since 1997 and has an extensive, established client base. It offers advanced medical diagnostics, including digital radiology, ultrasound, echocardiography and in-house laboratory services, alongside a fully equipped surgical suite. Abdominal ultrasounds can be performed by a board-certified internist. Services include preventative care, wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite control, microchipping, dentistry with dental radiography, general and soft tissue surgery, hospice care, pain management and diagnostic services. The hospital follows hands-free, Fear Free and cat-friendly practices to support a low-stress environment for patients. It also collaborates with specialists for advanced diagnostics and procedures when required. Hospital opening hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–7:00pm; Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm; and Saturday, 8:00am–12:00pm. The hospital is closed on Sundays.

Team
The team consists of three doctors supported by a skilled, tenured support team, working together to provide gold-standard medicine. The environment is collaborative and supportive, with a strong focus on mentorship, teamwork and professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
