Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring a Medical Director to join a general practice focused on delivering high-quality care to dogs and cats. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian to lead a collaborative team while maintaining strong clinical standards and providing exceptional patient and client care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves a combination of clinical and leadership responsibilities, including overseeing medical standards while delivering hands-on care across wellness exams, sick visits, soft tissue surgery, dental care, diagnostics, and laser therapy. The position includes working alongside visiting specialists who provide orthopedic surgery and ultrasound services. The Medical Director will support the team with complex cases, maintain clinical excellence, and contribute to a collaborative environment. This is a full-time position suited to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
Our client is a general practice offering wellness and preventative care, sick visits, surgery, dental care, diagnostics, and laser therapy. The hospital also hosts a traveling board-certified surgeon for orthopedic procedures, as well as specialists providing cardiac and ultrasound services. Additional services include boarding and dog daycare. The practice is AAHA accredited and utilizes low stress handling techniques with RECOVER BLS and ALS certified staff. The hospital has a well-established client base and promotes a membership program that supports accessible care. Hospital opening hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am–7:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with Sundays closed except for boarding services.

Team
The team consists of 8 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team. The environment is highly collaborative, with a mix of experienced veterinarians and newer graduates who work together to support one another and manage complex cases.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
