Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a practice in Doral seeking an experienced Lead Veterinarian to join a new veterinary facility on a full-time basis. The role will combine high-quality clinical care for dogs and cats with leadership responsibilities, providing the opportunity to help shape medical quality and culture as the new practice develops.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Lead Veterinarian will spend approximately 85% of their time on clinical duties and 15% on leadership responsibilities. Clinical responsibilities include behavioral consultations, dermatology, diagnostics, euthanasia, kitten and puppy care, microchipping, nutritional counseling, oncology diagnostics, oral health, prescription management, senior pet care, spaying and neutering, surgery, travel documentation, vaccinations, and wellness examinations. Leadership responsibilities include maintaining high standards of veterinary care, overseeing medical procedures and guidelines, creating and maintaining the doctor schedule, mentoring Associate Veterinarians, leading rounds and meetings, partnering with operational leadership on client experience, participating in recruitment, and helping develop a positive hospital culture. The role offers clinical autonomy, with working hours and scheduling to be discussed once the practice opens. This position is specifically for an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The new facility will provide a broad range of veterinary services including behavioral consultations, dermatology, diagnostics, euthanasia, kitten and puppy care, microchipping, nutritional counseling, oncology diagnostics, oral health, prescription management, senior pet care, spaying and neutering, surgery, travel documentation, vaccinations, and wellness examinations. The environment will emphasize modern veterinary medicine, clinical autonomy, continuing education, professional growth, and leadership development. Hospital opening hours will be determined once the new facility opens.

Team
The practice currently has one DVM and will focus on building a collaborative, growth-minded veterinary team. The Lead Veterinarian will play an active role in mentoring fellow doctors, developing clinical talent, participating in recruitment, and helping shape a positive team culture as the new facility develops.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
