An AAHA-accredited companion animal practice in Des Moines, Washington is seeking a motivated Medical Director to lead its growing team of two doctors. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership role where collaboration, mentorship, and clinical excellence are at the heart of the practice. Located just minutes from the beach, this modern, full-service hospital is ideal for a veterinarian who values both high-quality medicine and a supportive culture.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays. The Medical Director will enjoy a flexible full-time schedule with a balance of clinical duties and leadership responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will lead a dedicated veterinary team by setting the medical vision and fostering a positive, inclusive environment. The role includes mentoring associates, upholding clinical standards, and working closely with the Practice Manager on hospital goals and operational planning. The successful candidate will drive professional development and champion continuous improvement while providing outstanding patient care.

Practice Details
This modern facility offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services, including internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and advanced diagnostics. The hospital is equipped with digital and dental radiography, in-house lab equipment, ultrasound, and Class IV laser therapy. The team benefits from 1:1 LVT-to-doctor support and an additional 2:1 medical support ratio. With feline-only exam rooms, a dedicated cat ward, Fear-Free Certified staff, and access to in-house specialty partners, the practice is committed to delivering personalized and progressive care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
