Our client is a hospital looking to hire a full-time Medical Director. Having proudly served the Des Moines community for over 25 years, this well-established hospital provides high-quality veterinary care for cats and dogs and maintains an excellent 4.7-star Google rating. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to lead a respected practice while continuing to deliver exceptional patient care in a collaborative clinical environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of Medical Director responsibilities, combining clinical leadership with the delivery of high-quality veterinary care. This is a predominantly clinical leadership opportunity, with approximately 80–90% of your time dedicated to practicing medicine while leading by example, fostering collaboration, and helping shape the medical direction of the hospital. You will provide preventative, medical, and surgical care, manage a diverse companion animal caseload, and work closely with clients to develop comprehensive treatment plans while maintaining a high standard of patient care and client service. You will also support fellow veterinarians, help elevate clinical standards, and contribute to the continued success of this well-established, AAHA-accredited practice. Specific working hours will be discussed further. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about practicing progressive medicine while driving clinical excellence.

Practice Details
The practice provides the full scope of General Practice services alongside Urgent Care. The hospital is equipped with, but not limited to, an In-House Laboratory, Digital Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography, a Tonopen, and Ultrasound, supporting advanced diagnostics and patient care. Facilities include modern exam rooms, surgical and dental suites, and advanced monitoring equipment. The practice is AAHA-accredited, reflecting its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of veterinary medicine. The hospital offers a diverse small animal caseload consisting primarily of dogs and cats, providing a rewarding mix of wellness care, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, urgent care, and advanced diagnostics. The variety of cases allows experienced veterinarians to continue expanding their medical interests while practicing comprehensive medicine. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays.

Team
You will be joining a team of 2 DVMs, supported by a passionate and highly experienced team of certified technicians, veterinary assistants, and client service representatives. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
