Introduction
This modern small animal hospital in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Medical Director to lead its clinical team while remaining heavily involved in hands-on patient care. The opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian who enjoys practising high-quality medicine but is also passionate about mentoring other doctors, developing clinical standards and helping create a positive and collaborative hospital culture.

Working Hours / Rota
The Medical Director will spend the majority of their time working clinically, with leadership responsibilities incorporated alongside their own patient caseload. The position is designed to provide the opportunity to remain an active veterinarian while having dedicated involvement in the development and direction of the hospital.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you’ll provide comprehensive small animal medicine while taking responsibility for clinical leadership across the hospital. You’ll mentor and develop fellow veterinarians, help maintain high medical standards and work closely with hospital leadership to strengthen the experience for both clients and the wider team. You’ll have clinical autonomy over your own cases while playing an active role in developing talent, encouraging collaboration and helping shape the hospital’s medical culture.

Practice Details
The hospital provides modern general practice medicine within a contemporary clinical environment designed to give veterinarians the technology and resources needed to practise effectively. The wider approach places an emphasis on clinical autonomy, collaboration and continued professional development, with extensive continuing education and leadership development available. This position offers the opportunity to influence the hospital’s clinical direction without stepping away from the patient care and case management that form the majority of the role.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
