Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital hiring for a Medical Director. This is a long-standing small animal practice with nearly 40 years of service to the community, offering an opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to lead a respected clinic while remaining hands-on clinically.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. This is a full-time position.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide high-quality medical care to small animal patients while leading clinical operations and guiding medical standards. Responsibilities include performing surgeries and dental procedures, interpreting diagnostics, developing treatment plans, mentoring associate veterinarians and medical staff, and supporting daily clinic operations. The role also involves building strong client relationships, maintaining accurate medical records, ensuring compliance, and providing steady, approachable leadership within the team. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

This is a small animal practice offering a range of services including medical care, surgical services, wellness and vaccination programs, and dental care. The clinic has a strong focus on surgery, dentistry, and delivering high-quality, patient-first care. It is a well-established, community-based hospital with a collaborative and supportive culture, maintaining a reputation for ethical and compassionate veterinary services.

Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, fostering a collaborative and experienced working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
