Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a small animal veterinary hospital seeking a Medical Director to join their team, offering either full-time or part-time opportunities working with cats and dogs.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will combine clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, acting as a mentor and role model for the veterinary team while continuing to provide high-quality patient care. Daily responsibilities include performing wellness exams, diagnostics, and surgical procedures, while supporting advanced care and treatment planning. In addition to clinical duties, the role involves mentoring and developing associate veterinarians through coaching, performance discussions, and professional development planning. You will work closely with the Practice Manager to support hospital operations, drive clinical standards, and ensure compliance with medical and regulatory requirements. The position also includes leading team meetings, supporting recruitment and mentorship programs, and fostering a collaborative, growth-focused culture. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership capabilities.
Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited small animal hospital is committed to delivering high standards of veterinary care across wellness and prevention, diagnostics, advanced care, and surgical procedures. The practice emphasizes comprehensive patient care supported by strong diagnostic capabilities and access to additional clinical resources. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays. The environment promotes continuous professional development, collaboration, and high-quality medical standards within a supportive and well-resourced setting.
Team
The team consists of 4 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and supportive environment with a strong focus on mentorship and development.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
