Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to join their team, providing care for cats and dogs within a full-service companion animal practice focused on delivering high-quality veterinary medicine and strong client relationships.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead the veterinary team while maintaining an active clinical caseload. Responsibilities include overseeing medical standards and protocols, mentoring and managing associate veterinarians, and ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations. The role also involves partnering with hospital leadership to support operational performance and financial health, as well as fostering a collaborative team culture focused on delivering high-quality patient care. The Medical Director will guide the team through clinical decision-making, support recruitment and development, and ensure consistent excellence in patient outcomes. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
