Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to lead their established companion animal practice. Founded in 1953, the hospital has provided high-quality veterinary care for over 70 years, delivering comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services for pets across two full-service clinic locations in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about clinical leadership while maintaining a high standard of veterinary medicine.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is a full-time position. Hospital hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will lead and manage the hospital to ensure the highest quality of medical care, exceptional client experience, and strong engagement across the veterinary team. The role involves performing diagnostic workups, developing treatment plans, providing preventive care, and maintaining clear communication with both clients and the clinical team. Responsibilities include overseeing the daily hospital schedule and caseload, delegating tasks to improve efficiency, and ensuring all client concerns are addressed in a timely manner. The Medical Director will work closely with the Practice Manager and leadership team to support hospital productivity, develop training plans for associate veterinarians, and mentor team members while maintaining a collaborative environment. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital is an AAHA accredited full-service veterinary medical facility providing comprehensive care for companion animals. Services include wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, diagnostic testing, dental care, pet surgeries, advanced diagnostic imaging, microchipping, dental radiology, spay and neuter procedures, pet health certificates, end-of-life support, dermatology and allergy care, behavior and anxiety support, nutrition services, urgent care, pet prescriptions, and grooming. The hospital emphasizes delivering high-quality veterinary medicine while maintaining strong relationships with clients and the community.

The hospital has 6 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and supportive environment focused on delivering excellent patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
