Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Lead Veterinarian to join their veterinary team providing care for companion animals. This role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, allowing the Lead Veterinarian to guide medical standards while continuing to deliver high-quality veterinary care. The position is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about mentorship, collaboration, and maintaining excellent standards of medicine within a supportive team environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. Hospital hours are Monday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Lead Veterinarian will dedicate approximately 85% of their time to clinical veterinary duties and 15% to leadership responsibilities. Clinical work includes providing comprehensive veterinary care such as wellness exams, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care services. Leadership responsibilities include supervising the implementation of medical procedures and guidelines, mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, leading daily rounds and team meetings, and helping maintain a positive hospital culture. The role also involves collaborating with leadership on budgeting, staffing, and hospital productivity, participating in recruitment efforts, and supporting the overall clinical performance and client experience of the hospital. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a wide range of veterinary services including primary care, behavioral consultations, dermatology, diagnostics, euthanasia, microchipping, nutritional counseling, oncology diagnostics, oral health, vaccinations, wellness exams, surgery, spaying and neutering, and urgent care services. The practice focuses on delivering high-quality veterinary care with strong clinical standards and an emphasis on autonomy for veterinarians to practice medicine.

Team
The hospital has 4 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative environment where veterinarians work together to provide exceptional care for patients and clients.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
