Introduction
Our client is a general practice veterinary hospital seeking a Medical Director to join their team, working with dogs and cats on a full-time basis. This is an opportunity to lead a well-established clinic while continuing to practice high-quality medicine in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will balance clinical responsibilities with leadership duties, guiding the medical team while maintaining a strong presence in patient care. Responsibilities include overseeing medical standards, mentoring and supporting veterinarians and support staff, and ensuring exceptional client service and patient outcomes. The role involves managing a caseload that includes wellness and preventive care, sick visits, dentistry, and internal medicine, while fostering a positive and collaborative culture. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is confident in both clinical practice and team leadership.
Practice Details
The hospital is an AAHA accredited facility with a long-standing presence in the community, having served clients for over 40 years. It is equipped with digital radiology, dental x-ray, and modern in-house diagnostics including laboratory services and pharmacy, supporting efficient and high-quality patient care. Services offered include dermatology, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, preventive care, internal medicine, radiology, anesthesia, and hospitalization. The practice operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays. The culture emphasizes compassionate care, strong client relationships, and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs with over 20 years of combined experience and a great tenured support team, creating a close-knit, collaborative environment where mentorship and teamwork are valued.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
