Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal veterinary hospital seeking a Medical Director to join its team. The position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and combines clinical practice with responsibility for establishing the medical direction and quality of the hospital. The practice provides comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats, with a strong emphasis on high-quality medicine, compassionate patient care, client education, and transparent service recommendations.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will continue practicing clinical medicine while establishing the direction and medical quality of the hospital. Clinical responsibilities encompass primary and preventative care, sick visits, internal medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, advanced care, hospitalization, and management of canine and feline diabetes. Additional clinical opportunities include soft tissue and laser surgery, dermatology, oncology, ophthalmology, reproductive services, pain management, and intensive care. The Medical Director will work collaboratively with the wider hospital team and will receive support across areas including operations, marketing, human resources, and payroll. Full-time doctors typically work four days per week with rotating Saturdays, while part-time schedules are also available.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays. The practice is AAHA accredited and offers advanced dental care, digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, EKG, Tonopen, OFA radiography, cold laser therapy, laser surgery, video otoscopy, in-house endoscopy, an in-house laboratory and pharmacy, an in-office surgical suite, intensive care, and an isolation ward. Services include preventative and primary care, wellness and senior care, internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry and periodontics, diagnostics, general and soft tissue surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, reproductive services, hospitalization, hospice and euthanasia care, pain management, urology, health certificates, grooming, and pet counseling. The hospital is a fast-paced, collaborative practice focused on exceptional patient care, client education, and high-quality medicine.

Team
The hospital has four DVMs working alongside credentialed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and client service representatives. The team environment is collaborative and focused on high standards of patient care, with an emphasis on teamwork, continued learning, client relationships, and sharing knowledge.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
