Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Lead Veterinarian to join its established small animal team. Caring for dogs and cats, the hospital has served the Cedar Park community since 1984 and is dedicated to delivering gold-standard veterinary care across wellness, diagnostics, surgery, and urgent care. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian ready to lead a clinical team while continuing to practice high-quality medicine.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As the Lead Veterinarian, you will provide comprehensive medical care across wellness and prevention, advanced care, testing and diagnostics, surgical procedures, and urgent care while leading the clinical team. You will mentor and develop associate veterinarians, conduct performance discussions, support individual development goals, and foster a collaborative, team-focused culture. Working alongside the Practice Manager, you will help develop the annual operating plan, support hospital financial performance, and ensure compliance with medical and DEA regulations. You will lead monthly doctor meetings, supervise externship and mentorship programs, support recruitment initiatives, and represent the hospital within the local community. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will continue to practice medicine, providing client education and performing procedures including anesthesia, spays and neuters, soft tissue surgery, mass removal, dental surgery, laser therapy, OFA certification, and pain management.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays. The practice provides comprehensive small animal care with services including wellness and prevention, testing and diagnostics, advanced care, surgical procedures, urgent care, pet boarding, and pet grooming. The hospital is equipped to manage complex medical and surgical cases while offering internal specialty consultations and professional development resources to support high-quality patient care. The collaborative culture emphasizes continuing education, leadership development, and clinical excellence.

Team
The practice is home to 3 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team. The environment is collaborative and growth-focused, providing an experienced Lead Veterinarian with the opportunity to mentor colleagues, promote medical excellence, and foster a positive, engaged team culture.
