Introduction
Our client is a veterinary organization seeking a full-time Regional Medical Director to provide medical leadership across two established veterinary hospitals. This hands-on position combines clinical practice with leadership, mentorship, and doctor development, while maintaining medical autonomy at each hospital. The role also offers a potential pathway to partnership and ownership at both practices.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Regional Medical Director will continue practicing clinical medicine while providing medical leadership and support across both hospital teams. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, including early-career DVMs, supporting clinical development in surgery, diagnostics, case management, and overall quality of medicine, and serving as a trusted clinical resource for fellow veterinarians. The Medical Director will work alongside hospital and regional leadership to identify opportunities for continued growth, strengthen clinical teams, support doctor engagement and retention, and maintain consistency in quality of care while respecting the medical autonomy and individuality of each practice. Candidates should have strong clinical and surgical skills and confidence in general practice medicine, with five or more years of veterinary clinical experience preferred and previous leadership or mentorship experience strongly preferred.

Practice Details
The Regional Medical Director will work across two established veterinary hospitals offering a broad range of clinical services. Across the practices, services include wellness and preventative care, vaccinations, surgery, urgent care, senior pet care, dentistry, chiropractic care, exotic pet care, nutritional counseling, parasite prevention, and microchipping. Diagnostic capabilities include in-house laboratory testing such as bloodwork, fecal analysis and urinalysis, alongside digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG/EKG, and endoscopy. The role provides medical autonomy alongside access to operational, human resources, finance, marketing, and talent acquisition support, allowing doctors to maintain their focus on clinical medicine and patient care.

Team
The Regional Medical Director will work closely with veterinarians and hospital and regional leadership across both locations, with a particular focus on mentoring doctors, developing clinical teams, fostering a collaborative and positive culture, and supporting the continued professional development of associate veterinarians.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
