Job Description
Introduction
A brand new state of the art veterinary hospital opening in summer 2026 in Buckeye Avondale, Arizona is seeking a Medical Director to lead the launch and development of the practice. This opportunity offers the chance to shape the clinical direction of a modern hospital built from the ground up, combining general practice, urgent care, dentistry and surgery within a collaborative and growth focused environment. The role is ideal for an experienced veterinarian looking to lead a new hospital while continuing to practice high quality medicine.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital will operate seven days a week from 7:00am to 7:00pm. The schedule will be structured to ensure strong patient access while supporting a balanced and sustainable working routine for the veterinary team.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead the clinical team while also practicing as a veterinarian within the hospital. Responsibilities include delivering general practice, urgent care, dentistry and surgical services while guiding clinical standards and mentoring the veterinary team. The role also involves overseeing key performance indicators related to hospital culture, growth and quality of care while helping build a collaborative and high performing practice environment.
Practice Details
This brand new freestanding hospital will be purpose built with approximately four thousand square feet of clinical space designed to support modern veterinary medicine. The facility will be equipped with advanced diagnostic technology including ultrasound and dedicated treatment areas, with additional expansion planned to support future services such as advanced diagnostics, expanded surgical capacity and urgent care facilities based on the Medical Director’s clinical interests.
Team
The hospital will launch with a growing veterinary team supported by technicians and dedicated support staff, with the Medical Director playing a key role in building and mentoring the team as the practice develops.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
