Introduction
Our client is a dynamic mixed-animal veterinary hospital that is currently seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead its diverse and forward-thinking clinical team. The practice provides care across an exceptionally broad caseload, including small animals, large animals, exotics, zoo and wildlife species, with exciting plans to expand further into emerging areas such as beehive health. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned veterinarian who is passionate about leadership, mentorship, and practicing medicine across a truly varied and unique scope.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, with extended hours on Thursdays until 8:00 pm, and is closed on weekends. This is a full-time position, offering a consistent weekday schedule that supports work-life balance while allowing for meaningful leadership and clinical involvement.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will serve as a key clinical leader and resource for associate veterinarians and externs, fostering mentorship, collaboration, and professional growth. You will partner closely with the Hospital Manager to ensure smooth daily operations while promoting a positive and supportive workplace culture. Clinically, you will remain hands-on, contributing across wellness care, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care. This role is ideal for an experienced DVM who enjoys guiding others, setting medical standards, and leading by example in a diverse mixed-animal practice.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with essential diagnostic and treatment tools, including digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory capabilities, supporting efficient and high-quality medical care. The 1,000-square-foot facility offers a versatile clinical space designed to accommodate a wide range of species and services. Services provided include wellness care, spay and neuter procedures, dentistry, dermatology, urgent and emergency care, advanced surgery, laser therapy, and more, allowing for a stimulating and varied clinical environment.

Team
You will join a collaborative team of four experienced DVMs, supported by a fantastic and dedicated group of support staff. This strong team foundation allows the Medical Director to lead effectively while remaining engaged in meaningful clinical work.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
