Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead their AAHA-accredited small animal practice. The hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care for companion animals and exotics, with a strong surgical caseload and a broad mix of advanced diagnostics and general practice medicine. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about clinical excellence, leadership, and collaborative teamwork while remaining actively involved in patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
The position is full-time, with flexibility depending on scheduling needs. The hospital operates Monday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will remain clinically active while guiding medical standards and mentoring the veterinary team. Responsibilities include managing a varied caseload involving wellness care, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and internal medicine, while maintaining the hospital’s high standards of patient care. The role includes supporting associate veterinarians and technicians through mentorship and collaboration, ensuring medical protocols are upheld, and fostering a culture centered on teamwork and professional growth. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

This AAHA-accredited hospital offers a broad range of advanced medical services and maintains a strong reputation for high-quality care. The facility is equipped with in-house blood diagnostics, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, ECG, high-speed dental units, dental radiography, and fluid pumps. Services include Advanced Care, Advanced Dental Care, Cardiology, Cryosurgery, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Echocardiography, Reproductive Services, Soft Tissue Surgery, Preventive Medicine, Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Pain Management, and General Surgery including spays and neuters.

The hospital is supported by 3 DVMs and a great tenured support team, fostering a collaborative environment with long-standing staff and strong continuity of care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
