Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital based in Berkeley, California. They are currently seeking a Medical Director to lead clinical operations, mentor the veterinary team, and contribute to delivering outstanding patient care. This role combines hands-on medicine with strategic leadership in a collaborative and well-established hospital.
Hospital Hours
The hospital operates 24/7 emergency services, with routine appointments available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee clinical quality, mentor veterinarians and support staff, and ensure excellence in patient care and service delivery. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Medical Director will maintain an active caseload, providing general practice and emergency services. The role is ideal for an experienced clinician seeking to guide a strong, cohesive team within a hospital known for its comprehensive veterinary services.
Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA-accredited and provides extensive services, including preventive care, wellness, dental procedures, diagnostics, geriatric care, advanced surgery, and 24/7 emergency care. The practice has a long-standing reputation for quality, compassion, and innovation in veterinary medicine.
Team
The hospital has five veterinarians supported by an experienced and dedicated group of technicians, assistants, and client service staff. The team works collaboratively in a professional, supportive environment, focused on delivering exceptional care to both pets and their families.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
