Introduction
Our client is a practice providing small animal general veterinary care for dogs, cats, pocket pets, guinea pigs, and exotics, and is seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to lead their full-service hospital. The clinic delivers a broad range of care with a strong emphasis on wellness and preventative medicine alongside urgent and emergency services.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and is closed on weekends. This is a full-time position with a consistent weekday schedule.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will oversee clinical standards while delivering high-quality veterinary care across a diverse caseload, including wellness, preventative medicine, urgent and emergency care, and both orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring the veterinary team, ensuring excellent patient care and client communication, and maintaining high medical standards across the practice. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a passion for clinical excellence.

Practice Details
This is a small animal general practice with an average daily patient volume of approximately 16 cases per DVM and a support staff ratio of approximately 3:1. The clinic is equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and in-house laboratory capabilities, supporting a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services. The caseload includes wellness and preventative care, vaccinations, microchipping, dental care, behavior counseling, radiology, lab work, urgent and emergency care, and a comprehensive in-house pharmacy, alongside advanced surgical procedures and oncology services. The practice promotes a collaborative and supportive team culture, with a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and medical autonomy, allowing veterinarians to practice high-quality medicine with robust support from skilled technicians and leadership.

Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and supportive working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
