Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital hiring a full-time Medical Director. The practice is a full-service small animal hospital providing high-quality medical and surgical care for cats and dogs within a community-focused setting. This role offers the opportunity to lead medical standards, shape clinical direction, and work closely with operational leadership while maintaining a strong clinical presence. The position is open to veterinarians at varying stages of their careers who are interested in medical leadership.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is full-time, with a schedule of approximately 30–40 hours per week. Hospital hours are Monday through Wednesday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Thursday and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The hospital is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee medical quality and provide clinical leadership while continuing to practice veterinary medicine. Clinical responsibilities include preventive care, wellness examinations, diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury, internal medicine, dentistry, anesthesia, and routine and advanced soft tissue surgery. The role also involves developing and overseeing medical protocols, mentoring and supporting veterinarians, partnering with management on daily operations, and ensuring high standards of patient care and client communication. All anesthetic patients receive pre-operative lab work, IV catheter placement, IV fluids, and close monitoring and recovery supported by trained technicians.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and digital dental radiography. Facilities support radiology, dentistry, surgery, wellness care, and microchipping. The practice provides comprehensive small animal services and emphasizes gold-standard medical and surgical care, careful anesthesia monitoring, and individualized treatment plans. The hospital has served its local community for more than 30 years and maintains a friendly, small-town atmosphere focused on long-term patient relationships and continuity of care.

The Medical Director will work alongside an experienced and dedicated support team that plays a key role in patient and client care. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
