Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring a Medical Director to join their full-time team working with cats and dogs. This Fear Free certified hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian with strong general practice medicine and surgery skills who is passionate about leadership, mentorship, and delivering high-quality veterinary care within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will combine clinical and leadership responsibilities while leading by example in medical and surgical standards. Responsibilities include overseeing preventative care, diagnostics, chronic disease management, dentistry, and general soft tissue surgeries including spays, neuters, mass removals, and foreign body surgeries. The role also involves performing dental care and extractions with radiographic support while promoting Fear Free practices in a compassionate, client-centered environment. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring veterinarians and support staff, supporting hospital operations and team culture, guiding clinical decision-making, collaborating with leadership to improve workflows, and implementing clinical protocols. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership and communication skills.

Practice Details
This established hospital has served the Baltimore community since 1999 and provides care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets within a Fear Free certified environment focused on client communication and compassionate handling. The facility includes 5 exam rooms, a dedicated second-floor surgery suite, in-house laboratory, in-house pharmacy, digital radiology, intraoral dental radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, and laparoscopy to support a wide range of medical, surgical, and dental cases. Services offered include preventative wellness care, diagnostics, dental care, surgery, internal medicine, emergency care, end-of-life care, behavioral counseling, nutritional counseling, and health certificates. Hospital hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Saturday from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and closed on Sundays.

Team
The team consists of 3 DVMs and a great tenured support team working within a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture. The environment emphasizes teamwork, professional development, strong client relationships, and continued clinical growth.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
