Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a dedicated Medical Director to join their team on a full-time basis. This clinic provides care for cats and dogs and is looking for an experienced veterinarian to take on a leadership role while continuing to deliver high-quality clinical care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing the full scope of general practice responsibilities, combining leadership duties with hands-on clinical work. The role involves providing comprehensive care across routine and complex cases, with a focus on maintaining high medical standards within the hospital. This position is open to experienced veterinarians only. The successful veterinarian will work four 10-hour shifts with rotating Saturdays.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm. It is an AAHA-accredited facility equipped with digital x-ray, an in-house laboratory, and digital dental x-ray, among other tools. The clinic features an isolation ward, in-office surgical suite, and in-house pharmacy, providing a well-rounded environment for patient care. Services include oxygen and transfusion therapy alongside the full scope of general practice services. The hospital is committed to using fear-free techniques whenever possible and also offers behavior and nutrition counselling. The practice fosters a supportive and well-structured environment with strong infrastructure in place.
Team
The team consists of four DVMs supported by a well-tenured group of support staff, maintaining a minimum 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio. The environment is stable and collaborative, with a strong support system in place to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
