Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital providing comprehensive small animal care, seeking a Medical Director to join their team on either a full-time basis.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, with approximately one-third of time dedicated to leadership duties and two-thirds to practicing as a veterinarian. You will be responsible for overseeing hospital operations, ensuring high standards of patient care, and delivering exceptional client service. Clinical responsibilities include performing diagnostic workups, developing treatment plans, conducting surgery and dental procedures, and providing preventive, urgent, and ongoing care. As Medical Director, you will lead and mentor veterinarians and staff, manage performance and development, support recruitment and onboarding, and ensure compliance with medical standards and regulations. You will collaborate closely with the Practice Manager and leadership team to drive hospital performance, oversee scheduling and workflow, and lead regular team meetings. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
The hospital provides personalized veterinary care across two locations, offering a diverse caseload ranging from routine wellness to advanced procedures. Services include dental care, surgery, on-site laboratory diagnostics, X-rays and ultrasound, acupuncture and holistic therapies, and end-of-life support. The practice emphasizes a collaborative, community-focused culture with a strong commitment to continuity of care and client relationships. Hospital hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm, and closed on Sunday.
Team
The team consists of 8 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, fostering a collaborative and mentoring-focused environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
