Introduction
Our client is a full-service small animal hospital seeking an experienced veterinarian to join its team as Medical Director. Caring for cats and dogs, the hospital offers a broad range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, rehabilitation, and advanced care services. This opportunity combines hands-on clinical medicine with the chance to provide leadership and help shape the continued development of an established six-doctor hospital. The role is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is either already working in medical leadership or is ready to take the next step into a leadership position.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will continue to practice clinically while providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the veterinary team. Responsibilities include maintaining high standards of patient care and medical quality, supporting the development and continued clinical growth of fellow veterinarians, fostering a positive, collaborative, and accountable hospital culture, and identifying opportunities to strengthen hospital workflows and patient care. The Medical Director will partner with hospital and operational leadership on goals, growth, and continued improvement while maintaining the opportunity to practice medicine in their own areas of clinical interest. The hospital sees a mix of wellness and sick appointments, surgery, diagnostics, and advanced case workups. Previous Medical Director experience is welcomed but not required, with experienced veterinarians ready to progress into leadership also encouraged to apply.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the hospital closed on Sundays. The practice is equipped with a CT scanner, ultrasound, radiography, laparoscopy and LigaSure, electrocautery, a fully equipped surgical suite, complete in-house laboratory, digital dental suite, endoscopy, and advanced diagnostic technology including AI-assisted cytology, fecal analysis, and radiographic interpretation alongside ECG monitoring. Board-certified veterinary radiologist consultations are also available for complex imaging cases. Rehabilitation capabilities include a therapy pool, underwater treadmill, laser therapy, and electronic stimulation therapy. Services include wellness care, dentistry, rehabilitation and fitness, regenerative medicine, oncology and cancer treatment, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, end-of-life care, microchipping, nutrition, pharmacy, and urgent care. The hospital also features dual reception areas to support efficient client flow and a drive-through pharmacy. The practice places an emphasis on progressive medicine, thorough diagnostics and treatment planning, strong doctor-to-doctor communication, technician utilization, mentorship, professional development, predictable scheduling, and work-life balance.

Team
The hospital has six DVMs alongside an experienced technician and support team. The established multi-doctor environment is centred around collaborative medicine, mentorship, strong communication, and a positive team-driven culture. The Medical Director will serve as a trusted clinical resource for fellow veterinarians, supporting their development while working alongside hospital and operational leadership to help guide the continued growth of the practice.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
