Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a general practice hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides care for dogs and cats and is looking for an experienced veterinarian to take on a leadership role within an established small animal practice.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will combine hands-on clinical duties with leadership responsibilities, including providing high-quality medical and surgical care, overseeing case management, and ensuring the highest standards of patient and client care. The role involves establishing and maintaining medical protocols, monitoring medical quality and performance, reviewing medical records, and supporting complex case decisions. Additional responsibilities include mentoring veterinarians, fostering a collaborative and positive culture, supporting recruitment and professional development, and working closely with hospital leadership to align medical standards with operational goals. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. It is a small animal general practice providing a comprehensive range of services including wellness and preventive care, diagnostics, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. Services also include vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, spay and neuter procedures, and laboratory testing such as blood, urine, and fecal analysis. The practice emphasizes compassionate, individualized care and maintains a strong reputation within the local community, supported by a collaborative environment and access to broader professional resources.
Team
The team consists of 3 DVMs supported by a tenured support team, creating a collaborative and supportive environment focused on high standards of patient care and professional development.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
