Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to join their team. The practice provides care for cats and dogs and is looking for an experienced veterinarian to combine high-quality clinical medicine with leadership responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role combines a full scope of general practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics, and soft tissue surgery, with Medical Director leadership duties. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to the veterinary team, support the development and mentorship of doctors, help maintain high standards of medicine and patient care, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the hospital. This position is open to experienced veterinarians only, with doctor hours open to discussion.

Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays. It is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house diagnostics, a pharmacy, and a fully equipped surgical suite. Services offered include wellness and preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, and acupuncture. The clinic is a 2024 award-winning practice in Albuquerque, recognized for its progressive approach to small-animal medicine, strong surgical support, and positive, team-first culture. The hospital emphasizes clinical autonomy, collaboration, and a respectful, growth-oriented workplace, providing an excellent environment for a Medical Director to help shape the continued development of the practice.

Team
The team consists of 3 DVMs supported by a strong group of technicians and assistants per doctor, creating a well-supported clinical environment. The Medical Director will work closely with the existing veterinary and support teams, providing clinical guidance and leadership while fostering a collaborative and positive workplace.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
