Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a nine-doctor, AAHA-accredited small animal and exotics practice in Southern Maine seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their award-winning team. Recognized as Best of the Best Veterinarian in 2023 by Downeast Dog News, the practice prides itself on a collaborative, kind-hearted culture and a strong commitment to high-quality, compassionate care.
Working Hours / Rota
The practice is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. This is a full-time position with no after-hours requirements.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will manage a diverse caseload including wellness visits, sick and injury exams, and surgical procedures. Responsibilities include client communication and education on preventive care such as vaccinations and parasite control, maintaining clear and detailed medical records, and contributing to a positive and supportive clinic culture. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship available for those starting their careers.
Practice Details
The facility offers a wide range of services, including wellness and preventive care, surgery, dental care, nutritional counseling, dermatology and allergy testing, internal medicine, laser therapy, end-of-life care, and treatment for pocket pets and reptiles. The practice is equipped with digital radiology, ultrasound, and advanced diagnostic tools to support accurate and efficient patient care. The team is dedicated to serving the local community with compassion while maintaining the highest standards of veterinary medicine.

The practice has nine DVMs supported by a highly skilled and tenured support staff, fostering a collaborative environment that values teamwork, mentorship, and professional growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
