Introduction
Our client is a UrgentVet hospital in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, hiring a Short Term Stay Veterinarian to provide urgent care for canine and feline patients. The hospital specializes in bridging the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care, offering a supportive environment for veterinarians seeking flexibility and clinical autonomy.

Working Hours / Rota
This part-time role involves working three shifts per week for an initial 90-day period, with the option to extend for another 90 days. Clinics open later in the day, providing a balanced start to mornings and flexible scheduling without overnight shifts. Veterinarians living 60+ miles from the hospital receive a monthly travel and housing stipend.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Short Term Stay Veterinarian will provide high-quality care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Responsibilities include managing a variable caseload, collaborating with the clinical team and leadership, mentoring support staff through internal training, and building relationships with patients, clients, and the community. The role emphasizes practicing medicine without administrative responsibilities and is ideal for experienced veterinarians seeking flexibility, relief work stability, or a temporary opportunity to explore the practice.

Practice Details
The hospital is paperless and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital radiography, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The walk-in, urgent-care model provides a dynamic caseload with a balance of pace and predictability. Team

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
