Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their thriving three-doctor practice in Decatur, Alabama. This opportunity is ideal for a compassionate, team-oriented veterinarian at any stage of their career, including new graduates looking for strong mentorship in a high-quality, family-like environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and is closed on weekends. There is a daily closure for lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide individualized medical care including wellness exams, surgical and dental procedures, diagnostics, and urgent care. The role emphasizes strong client communication and collaborative teamwork. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship available for those early in their careers.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with three exam rooms, portable ultrasound, digital radiography, and facilities for both surgical and dental procedures. Services offered include wellness care, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, urgent care, end-of-life care, laboratory services, pharmacy, microchipping, and nutritional counseling. The environment supports progressive medicine and a personalized approach to patient care.

Team
The team includes three DVMs, five technicians, a group of experienced client service representatives, and a dedicated office manager. The culture is friendly, team-focused, and built around a shared commitment to work-life balance and professional support.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
