General Practice Veterinarian (Associate Veterinarian)

Job Description

Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their experienced and collaborative team. This full-service small animal and exotic practice welcomes candidates interested in seeing avian and exotic patients, but is equally happy to consider those focused solely on companion animals. The hospital supports a flexible and personalized approach to scheduling and clinical interests, making this an excellent opportunity for veterinarians with a range of experience and preferences.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute slots, typically between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, with a 75-minute lunch break. Veterinarians generally work around 35 hours per week, and the schedule can be tailored to suit individual needs, including options for those not interested in surgery.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role includes a diverse mix of responsibilities such as wellness care, diagnostics, internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery, with flexibility to accommodate those who prefer not to perform surgery. The hospital is open to experienced veterinarians as well as new graduates, offering a supportive environment and mentorship opportunities. There is also the potential to work with exotic species for those with an interest in this area.

Practice Details
The hospital is fully equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, in-house IDEXX laboratory equipment, a surgical suite, a dental suite, and electrocautery. It offers a wide range of medical, diagnostic, surgical, and dental services, including certified veterinary acupuncture, abdominal ultrasound, pain management, behavioral consultations, and advanced dental procedures. The hospital maintains a strong commitment to high medical standards and staying current with modern technology.

The team includes 4 DVMs supported by a group of tenured staff in a collaborative and flexible environment. The practice culture emphasizes mentorship, professional development, and work-life balance, making it well-suited for both early-career and experienced veterinarians.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
