General Practice Veterinarian (Associate Veterinarian)

Job Description

Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited hospital in Islamorada, Florida hiring an Associate Veterinarian. The team prides itself on a collaborative culture that supports a variety of medical and surgical cases while helping you grow professionally.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm, on Saturdays from 8:00am to 2:00pm, and is closed on Sundays. This position can be full or part time, and the role involves managing a varying caseload of surgeries and appointments during open hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities include serving patients and clients with a relationship-based approach, collaborating with the clinical team and leadership, and building relationships within the practice and wider community. The role also involves encouraging the development of support staff through internal training and managing a broad caseload incorporating both surgical and medical cases. This position is suited to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The practice is a multi-doctor team serving the Islamorada community with a progressive, education-focused approach that prioritizes nutrition, exercise, and preventive care. Equipment includes digital full-body and dental radiology, a dedicated surgery suite, upgraded ultrasound with echo capability, a surgical laser, and a cold/therapy laser. The hospital is AAHA accredited and emphasizes feline-friendly techniques. Services offered include behavioral medicine, boarding, dental care, diagnostics and laboratory services, emergency pet services, microchipping, nutritional counseling, pain management, parasite prevention and control, spay and neuter, surgery and anesthesia, vaccinations, wellness exams, wellness testing, and wound care.

Team
The team currently includes 2 DVM’s, supported by additional staff in a collaborative and patient-centered environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
