Job Description

This privately owned small animal hospital in the Calumet City area is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join their close-knit team. With the current full-time DVM and owner supported by relief doctors, the practice is ready to welcome a second permanent veterinarian. The hospital offers excellent support, typically assigning at least two technicians per doctor to ensure smooth, efficient workflows.

The facility is well-equipped for high-quality care, featuring digital radiography, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, two cold lasers, a tono-pen, three exam rooms, IDEXX in-house labs, and Cornerstone for electronic medical records. The clinic values autonomy and is looking for a doctor who is confident working independently at times.

The schedule is flexible, with a standard offering of four weekdays and only one Saturday per month, though alternative arrangements are happily considered. Whether a veterinarian is seeking no weekends, a heavier surgical caseload, part-time hours, or the opportunity to incorporate holistic care, this hospital is open to tailoring the role to suit individual interests and strengths.
