Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital in Smyrna, Georgia, seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to lead their dedicated team. This clinic provides high-quality care to cats and dogs and is proud to have been voted Best Veterinarian by the Smyrna/Vinings community in 2023.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, with no Sunday hours. There is no after-hours or on-call requirement, and the role offers flexibility for a healthy work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As Medical Director, you will oversee all aspects of patient care and provide leadership to the veterinary team. Responsibilities include mentoring associate veterinarians, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the hospital’s financial and operational health in partnership with the leadership team. Alongside administrative duties, you will continue to provide clinical care including wellness exams, preventive medicine, surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, senior pet care, and puppy and kitten care. This role is best suited for an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality medicine.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with an expansive treatment area, five exam rooms, large dedicated doctor offices, a surgical suite, digital radiography including dental, ultrasound, an in-house diagnostic lab, and multiparameter monitoring systems. The practice takes pride in its collaborative and supportive culture and focuses on client relationships and quality care.

Team
This is a two-doctor practice supported by a skilled and compassionate support staff. The team fosters a collaborative, client-focused environment where both pets and their owners are treated with care and respect.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
