Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a large veterinary hospital near Akron, OH, currently hiring for an experienced Veterinarian with strong leadership skills. The hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care for companion animals and is seeking a doctor to guide and develop its team while delivering high-quality medical and surgical services.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for boarding services only. The position is full-time, with flexibility to accommodate the doctor’s surgical and medical interests. Emergency care is provided during regular business hours; there are no after-hours emergency requirements.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The veterinarian will be responsible for performing exams, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics, with a strong emphasis on surgical expertise due to the hospital’s high volume of surgical and dental cases. The role involves fostering a collaborative team environment, providing leadership to support staff, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This position is best suited for an experienced veterinarian who is confident in surgery and team leadership.
Practice Details
The hospital is a large facility equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, including radiography and ultrasound. Services offered include wellness care, surgery (general and orthopedic), dental care, dermatology, diagnostics, emergency care during business hours, pain management, spay and neuter, vaccinations, grooming, and boarding. The practice maintains a compassionate culture with a focus on delivering comprehensive care.
Team
The team includes a compassionate support staff and the environment is collaborative, with an emphasis on mentorship, leadership, and building a cohesive team.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
