Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital hiring a Medical Director to lead their thriving team. This hospital provides high-quality veterinary care to cats and dogs and is located in a vibrant, arts-focused community. This position is ideal for an experienced veterinarian ready to take the next step into leadership or a current Medical Director seeking an opportunity to shape clinical excellence and team culture within a progressive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with Urgent Care hours available on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The schedule offers flexibility with a hybrid setup—general practice shifts on Thursdays and Fridays and Urgent Care coverage on weekends. There are no on-call duties, ensuring an excellent work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will split their time between clinical and leadership duties, maintaining a strong presence in both patient care and team development. Clinical responsibilities include performing general practice duties such as wellness care, surgery, and diagnostics, while upholding the highest standards of medical excellence. Leadership duties involve mentoring associate veterinarians, guiding medical protocols, fostering collaboration, and supporting a positive, growth-oriented culture. The role also includes involvement in scheduling, team meetings, and strategic decision-making to drive the hospital’s continued success.

Practice Details
The hospital features six exam rooms, dedicated dental and surgical suites, digital radiography, cold laser therapy, and ultrasound. The facility underwent renovations in 2024, enhancing its modern, efficient, and client-friendly design. With a focus on progressive, community-centered veterinary medicine, the hospital emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and professional development as key aspects of its culture.

The hospital is home to three DVMs supported by a skilled and energetic support staff. The team operates with a strong sense of collaboration, encouraging open communication, shared learning, and leadership growth. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
